Before I say anything about this smoothie, I have a question for anyone who goes running:
How do you do it, man?
I’m neither pro-running nor anti-running – there’s no judgement from me – but I just want to understand it. Setting aside all those times at school when we were all forced to run (or swim or whatever), I have tried running a grand total of twice. Both times just sucked. There’s no other way to describe it.
I do enjoy walking though.
This is my mind while walking:
It’s such a nice day today! Haha, look at those pigeons! They have the most adorable walk, almost like they’re doing an ‘Egyptian walk’ without the arm movements.
And then this is my mind while attempting to run:
Ah-ha, I’m actually doing it… Oh good lord this is awful! My legs hurt, I can’t breathe properly, I’m tired already…
So really all I want to know is how people do it! Is running genuinely enjoyable for other people, or is it just a matter of willpower?
(As I said, I’m not judging anyone – in fact, I’m super jealous of people who either enjoy or force themselves to go running!)
Moving on from that edition of “Claudia doesn’t understand things that everyone else seems to get”, there’s this smoothie! There’s no willpower needed to enjoy this smoothie!
Actually, you will need to clean the blender. But that’s something for future you to deal with.
To me, this smoothie tastes like a glass of sunshine. With banana, mango and orange, it’s tropical and summery and doesn’t that yellow color just make you smile?
Plus, since it’s a smoothie, it’s ridiculously easy to make!
The recipe below serves two (according to me – but the serving size is really up to you!), but if you’re just looking for one smoothie, here’s the division all done for you:
- 1 frozen banana
- ½ cup frozen mango chunks
- ½ orange, peeled and chopped (or just add a whole one)
- ¼ cup almond milk
- 3 oz. (85 g) plain Greek yogurt
The directions are the same as the recipe below, except you’ll only need one glass (but I’m sure you didn’t need me to tell you that!).
Question of the Day
I’m serious about not understanding running! It just seems so painful. Any thoughts would be appreciated (even if it’s just to tell me that I’m a noob)
Have a great Monday, everyone!
- 2 frozen bananas
- 1 cup frozen mango chunks
- 1 orange, peeled and chopped
- ½ cup almond milk
- ½ cup Greek-style yogurt
- Blend the frozen bananas, mango chunks, orange, almond milk and Greek yogurt until smooth. For a thinner smoothie, pour in some more milk.
- Divide between two tall glasses. Enjoy!
Any other yogurt can be substituted for the plain Greek yogurt. Flavored, regular (non-Greek) and non-dairy varieties should all be fine!
